Dear Madam / Sir,

            We hereby issue the third circular letter regarding the organisation of the 14th International Congress of Thracology. The Congress will be held in Deva, from the 6th to the 10th of May 2020, under the general heading:

THRACing the Past: From Bronze Communities to Iron Kingdoms

            As the registration period has ended, the Organising Committee examined the proposed papers to be presented at the Congress. Following this analysis, almost all the proposals have been accepted, with the exception of two papers. We are informing you on this occasion that a number of 128 specialists have registered for the upcoming event, with 91 oral presentations and 18 posters. In addition, four guests will attend the Congress.

            All the papers presented during the works of the Congress (both oral presentations and posters) will be comprised in two volumes which we intend to publish by the end of 2020. Due to the fact that the funding of these publications is ensured for the final part of this year, please send us your contributions until the 1st of September 2020 in order to have enough time for editing the texts. We have decided that the publication guidelines will follow the ones of the annual Sargetia, the journal of the Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilisation. For consulting the respective guidelines, please access the website www.anuarulsargetia.ro, section Norme pentru publicare / Guideline for Authors, paragraph 2 (Manuscripts).

            Concerning the poster session, please take into account the following indications:

  • poster size should be A0 (respectively, 841 x 1189 mm), Portrait orientation (vertical);
  • use Times New Roman font with an appropriate legible size;
  • bring the posters with you at the time of your registration in order to be exhibited as soon as possible.

At the moment, we are able to communicate you a preliminary schedule of the Congress. Thus, the day of 6th of May is dedicated to the arrival, registration and accommodation of the participants. Official opening ceremony will be held during the morning of the 7th of May, followed by the visiting of our museum’s exhibitions. Poster session is programmed on the 8th of May, between 17:00-18:30, in the building of MCDR called Magna Curia Palace.
